Recapifai ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

• Account information: Your Apple ID (via Sign in with Apple) to create and manage your account. We never see your Apple ID email unless you choose to share it.
• Subscription information: Your subscription plan and status, processed through Apple's App Store. We do not store your payment details.
• YouTube account (optional): If you connect your YouTube account for the Custom Plan, we access your subscription list to populate your channel feed. We do not store your YouTube credentials.
• Channel selections: The YouTube channels you select for your daily briefing.
• Usage data: Basic app usage information to improve the service.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate your personalized daily audio summary
• To manage your subscription and account
• To improve the app and fix issues
• To send important service updates (not marketing emails without consent)

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties except as necessary to provide the service (e.g., cloud infrastructure providers). All third-party providers are bound by data protection agreements.

How We Protect Your Data

• Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between the Recapifai app and our servers is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
• Encryption at rest: Data stored in our databases, including YouTube subscription and channel data, is encrypted at rest on our cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services).
• Access controls: Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to operate and support the service. We do not grant broad or unrestricted internal access to user data.
• Limited use of Google user data: Recapifai's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use your YouTube subscription data to display and let you select channels for your personalized daily recap — never for advertising, and never sold or shared with third parties.
• No credential storage: We never store your Google or YouTube account password. Authentication is handled entirely through Google's OAuth system, and we only retain the minimum access token needed to fetch your subscription list.
• Revoking access: You can disconnect your YouTube account and revoke Recapifai's access at any time from within the app (Settings → Disconnect YouTube) or directly from your Google Account permissions page.

Data Retention

We retain your account data, including YouTube channel selections, as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing support@recapifai.com. Upon deletion, your YouTube subscription data and channel selections are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Recapifai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
